Mermaids and Kelp beds

For the last week my nails have been living a naked life....until last night!!
Probably a good thing to let them breathe before banishing them back to the Cave of Lacquer.
Don't let me fool you...they don't just like it..they LOVE it!!!
When choosing the color of the week I have no real rhyme or reason other than.."Oohhh that looks pretty." I initially reached for a pearlescent purple, then my eyes were drawn to the lonely little bottle of China Glaze- "Bling it on" which is a dark blue/black glitter that I recently rescued from Sally's clearance section. I always feel I am doing good by saving a polish from sale jail...I cradle it all the way home telling it of the wonderful life it will now live among all of its brothers and sisters. I paired it up with Sally Hansen Lustre Shine in "Scarab" Who whouldathunk that these two would make a gorgeous nail that reminds me of a Northern Pacific kelp bed and mermaids!

"I ain't afraid of no ghost!"

Challenge 3-times a lady

Today's challenge is "Ghost"
Very happy to be moving on...I have been thinking about all the possible ghost ideas.

  • Basic sheet ghost with eyes
  • Spooky, looks like a person in fade mode, ghost
  • Mario's ghost
  • Casper
  • Pac-man

I am super indecisive, so I consulted with my expert (husband).
It was a toss up between sheet ghost and Pac-man.
Which one won!?!?!?!?
.
.
.
.

Yup! I have spent hours playing this game! Who doesn't love a ghost chasing you
while you are try to munch on some white dots and the occasional cherry? But as I was doing them...thinking over my options, I remembered SLIMER.
I loved watching Ghost Busters growing up. "Never cross the streams!"
I had yet to finish my right hand which worked out perfectly!!

I must say..I am VERY happy with the out come! I never want Slimer to be sucked away!
Next challenge starts Friday. Jack-O-Lanterns.

I think I lost my marbles.

Challenge dos- Watermarble

I did this the 5th, but am just now posting. Damn those awesome skills of procrastination! Going to try and be better about posting day of.
When I first discovered the water marble technique I thought it was the best thing ever!! I water marbled my nails for the following 2 months. There were great successes and many failures. The most important thing I learned from my trials is that the stars and planets must align perfectly and you gotta be wearing your lucky socks while crossing your toes for it to work. Wearing your lucky underwear helps too.

I used wetnwild- Rouge Royal and Sally Hansen -Ion ( which I am loving!!!)
I must admit I re-did 2 nails. My favorite is the thumb despite the little 'oops' on the bottom right.
Tomorrow is the third challenge- Qhosts......spooky!

Halloween Nail Challenge

Accidentally came across-"This is Halloween" Nail Art Challenge-a few days late..but was able to get the first challenge in. (if only for a day) Decided this was the perfect opportunity to create a blog devoted to my love of nail polish.

The first challenge- Horror Movies.
Perfect!!! One of my favs..
The Exorcist
So here went nothing. Didn't come out exactly as I had hoped but never the less pretty cool!

Thumb and ring finger connect to reveal the film title.
Pinky is sporting a cross.
Middle finger is the face of the Demon Father Damien.
Index is the silhouette of Father Merrin.

Looking forward to the rest of the month!! Tomorrow starts the second challenge- Water marble.
